One More Note

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Kyle Umeda.

Kyle was an employee of my old hotel, his mother is also an employee of the hotel, and the accident occured on his departure from work for the evening. It’s tough when I hear about things like this, as the staff is so big, I know many faces, but not all the names.

Happy Holidays?!?!?!

I am back in California still, things are going. My second day here, my work dropped a bomb that I had to rework my numbers for next year, and had only 6 days to complete it (including over the holiday). After working daily until Monday night at 9:30 and one more conference call today, it’s over. The drawback? The majority of my family has left for other trips, and I missed most of them, and the days before the holiday, usually my favorite, were spent working. Now some people ask, how is that possible, how can your job do it, well I have a duty to my employer and to myself to complete tasks, and sometimes they take up your own time, it was just unfortunate over this time.

Christmas was enjoyable with the family. Sean was the only missing link this year, though I have heard that my old brother, and his wife, and younger brother may both be missing links next year. Robyn came up the day after Christmas, unfortunately I worked most of her days here. We did manage to hang out a bit, the one day we had daytime free, it rained, go figure? We made the best of it, ordered an in room movie. The day after Christmas, I joined my father and God Parents in San Diego, after Robyn arrived, at HH La Jolla Torrey Pines. Today Robyn departed back to California, with Symba, a sad day altogether. Someone recently made a comment to the effect of “Let’s toast, to Symba finally leaving, and getting new carpet”. That comment has not sat well with me, and I am still disturbed by it as I though about it today.

I am not sitting back in my hotel suite after having pizza with Val and watching Duplex and Anchor Man. I asked dad to hve dinner and watch a DVD, he said he had no plans but was going home, I stopped by later to talk to him, to find out he was not alone, which is probably the reason why he was busy.

How depressing is this, the two songs that make me think of Robyn:

I Miss You~ Blink 182
The Reason~ Hoobastank,

They just played back to back on Launchplus radio on Yahoo! Nuts ehh?

Off to Ponder and read a book a friend gave me.

Aloha Express

Aloha from 41,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean! I am currently enroute back to Southern California! I am currentl listening to Beieve by Josh Groban from Polar Express.

Last night I celebrated Christmas at home before flying out. On Sunday I had work meetng from 9-12, after we went and saw Ocean’s Twelve and had Gelato! After getting home we cranked out 125 cookies! I gave some to the neighbor next door who left the most warming note on my door thanking me for them.

After wrapping up work and a hair cut yesterday, I headed home. Its pretty nice being able to go to work and get your hair cut. The lady was so nice, I tipped nicely due to the holiday season, $20 for an $18 haircut.

Last night jenn was at my place, victor was cooking. Jenn gave me a really nice Banana Republic shirt which I am wearing today. Victor gave me so so so much! He gave me a portable DVD player and a cd and a really cool fountain. Most importantly he competes my life with unmeasurable happiness! I pray nightly and before each meal, and I know him being in my life is a Blessing!

I packed this morning at 6am, instead of taking time out last night. Victor helped me pack and we headed to the airport only to realize I forgot california cards, like my disney ap, so he was going to try t make it to the hotel to include it with a Fedex box they are sending out today. For us to send overnight it has to be sent out by 9 am or will not make it in time.

I am now sitting on the plane, its pretty empty, I have a row to myself! I watched part of Love Actually before dozing off, awke and watched the in flght movie, home on the range.Just enjoyed my cookie and milk andd we will be on the ground @ John Wayne in 40 minutes now. Flying above the world this high with the clouds is like a dream. I have gotten used to the 5.5 hour flight and enjoy it and the time to myself.

Though my company last time was 1 million times better!

This time of year I love, being in the hot climate made it less enjoyable but, I am getting by. I can say that seeing famly matters so much more to me now. I had friends asking to see me, but my focus is family and seeing those I want to share my time with as I am here til jan 2! I have work wed and thurs then am off til 2005!

We are beginning our initial descent into John Wayne now, I need to pack up some things, Talk to and for some of you, SEE YOU soon!

A Hui Hou!

Holiday Eating Tips

Some Monday Humor!

Happy Monday!

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet
table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see
carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they’re serving
rumballs.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt
scotch, it’s rare. In fact, it’s even rarer than single-malt scotch. You
can’t find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares
that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It’s not as if you’re going to
turn into an eggnog-aholic or something. It’s a treat. Enjoy it. Have
one for me. Have two. It’s later than you think. It’s Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That’s the whole point of
gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of
your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they’re made with skim milk or
whole milk. If it’s skim, pass. Why bother? It’s like buying a sports
car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control
your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat
other people’s food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New
Year’s. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do.
This is the time for long naps, which you’ll need after circling the
buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of
eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like
frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position
yourself near them and don’t budge. Have as many as you can before
becoming the center of attention. They’re like a beautiful pair of
shoes. If you leave them behind, you’re never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or,
if you don’t like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always
have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor
Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it’s loaded with the
mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have
some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don’t feel terrible when you leave the party
or get up from the table, you haven’t been paying attention. Reread
tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

AND LAST BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST:

Remember this motto to live by:

“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO HOO what a
ride!”

Learn something new every day. As long as you are learning, you are
living. When you stop learning, you start dying.
