My Aloha Update….

Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii. I wish I could post the picture from the view from my room but I am on my work laptop, and not possible til I return to the mainland.

I arrived on Monday morning on a nonstop out of John Wayne, flew Aloha this time instead. I looked at approx 30 locations to buy on Tuesday, and then had a small meeting for work in the afternoon.

No luck yet on a place but ready to make some offers in the near future. I will be here til Friday afternoon until I fly back into SNA. I am most likely staying at the Hilton Towers in Anaheim on Fri and Sat as Robyn (I believe) is flying in to spend some one on one time before my relocation concludes). I then am back for about 6 days more then I fly back to Kona for a few days, pending home inspections, and escrow paper work. I fly back for 9 days, then my stuff will be shipped in a week or two, and I fly back and forth a few times to tend to business matters, most likely on the weekends as I have plenty of work to complete here.

I have adapted to the life around here in the few days, it was tough the first night. Everyone says, “lucky you” but if you think about it, I am leaving everyone, starting a new job, and moving, and buying a house all in a few weeks, lots of stress.

My going away party date is set for those that have been or will be invited, Val will be contacted you.

I sat out on the hammock after going to Kona tonight, out in between the palm trees at the resort, was pretty relaxing.

I read some updates on people journals and some make me laugh. Mel is doing awesome, I am so happy for her. One other person (nameless) complains about his feelings by friends, and I chuckled because it sounded like Karma, I firmly believe how you treat people comes back, and I guess it caught up with the person.

Cruz is doing very well staying busy with work, my move has been toughest for him then anyone else. Val is being a goober about the move and keeps mentioning Pudge the fish, and feeding peanut butter to him, the most comical voicemails. Amanda continues to be a success, Marcia keeps doing soul searching, and my father can’t wait to visit Hawaii with me in a week for 5 days.

Its now 9pm Hawaii time, and I am off to relax for a bit…

Wishing you all the best, and thanks for all the love and support…

Aloha California…

At 5:08pm last Friday I received a call from my new boss, at the Hawaii property. Key word, new boss. I managed to be offered the job, and I will be relocating to the big island of Hawaii in the next few weeks.

It was a very tough choice, leaving my family and all my friends, by the decision was made when I applied the day before I left for Hawaii, and the first day after the holiday on Monday, I had a video conference interview, it went poorly, but I guess I did well.

By Friday evening, just as I was ready to put my phone on forward, the new hotel called me and offered me the new position. My relocation package has been shipped, along with my offer letter and health options. I practically fell on the floor, but am doing better. I can honestly say I don’t remember driving home.

On Friday night, Dad, Marsha, Robin, Brandie, Tony and myself all went out to Spunky Steer. Afterwards Robin, Dougie and Tony went out bowling, in which we REALLY celebrated. Robin spilled her guts on everything, shocking, and Dougie was Mr. Sponge Bob. I don’t remember finishing a game but a good night!

Saturday I had breakfast and a hang over time with Marcia, in which my dad showed up and ate with us. Afterwards, Dad, Marsha, Cruz and myelf went up to Santa Barbara. I really wanted to give Cruz some quiet time, since for the duration of our friendship, its always been so busy, and with so many people. He loves the drive up there, and his face lights up whenever he sees the ocean up there. We had an upgraded room overlooking the ocean and beach, which made it for good times for all of us. We ate dinner at Something Fishy, which was the restaurant, just less then 18 months before, my regional asked me if I would be willing to move to Hawaii for the company, and now I am eating there again, and moving.

Afterwards we walked back to the hotel up there, and crashe. Then we awoke and Cruz and I headed back home but detoured in Santa Monica. We ate at Johnny Rocket’s, and had Helen as our waitress, she is such a GREAT person! Then we saw the anchorman, which was not that funny, guess I was just very tired from Friday night still. Then I got home, and went to the OC Fair with Jake, and then I headed home and crashed.

All together it was agreat time, and I am focusing on the current time I have, versus the time when I say goodbye to my world here to go to Hawaii.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Job Interview

Since I have not updated since Hawaii, I have been busy with trying to think about a possible job interview I have. The time is now set, it is tomorrow at 15:30PDT in Santa Ana, it is a Video Teleconference interview, which will be my first of that kind. I have done phone interviews several times before.

I have not talked to anyone about this for a couple reasons, I don’t want to have to explain to people why I didn’t get it, however if I do, it would be tough to explain why I didn’t mention anything. When I told some friends, they reacted incorrectly as if I had already accepted an offer that has not been made. I should know within a few days, and I am excited and honestly honored to be one of three final candidates in the selection process. I look at is a win win situation, if I get it, its great, if not, I’m happy and will be house shopping still.

Talk to you all soon, Hawaii pics coming soon!
